Making an S88 Equipment module template
Making Equipment or Phase templates is easy in Spike. You effectively reverse engineer the template from an existing working instance. In this video we first of all create a simple equipment module for controlling drain and condensate trap divert valves. We assign the modules, create the 3 commands, and record some behaviour which ultimately forms the basis of the command logic.Once we are satisfied that this instance works according to expectations, we can go about converting it into an equipment module that is amenable to being exported and reused as as template. We do this be parameterising the physical model requirements. In other words, the code no longer directly references subordinate control modules. Instead, the code refers to EM parameter variables which store the name of the control modules. Thus, as long as the parameters are configured, the code does not have to be modified in any way.
